According to the IAB the UK online advertising market was worth over £4.1bn in 2010 and accounted for nearly 25% of the total £16.6bn market.
Search grew 8% YoY and accounted for 57% of the online total but other areas of online are catching fast. Notable risers were Facebook with 200% YoY growth and mobile advertising which grew 116%.
The Search Star team recently attended a one day advertiser conference at Google and the day’s focus was all display, mobile & social media ad formats. Google was urging agencies to move client budgets into these media and highlighting the returns that were available for savvy advertisers.
