Not wishing to make you cry but…

This year at Search Star we have added the charity “Send a Cow” to our client list. So when it came to deciding on Christmas gifts we were tickled by the symbiosis of sending gifts from one customer to all the others. We also liked the idea that, by buying each client one chicken, we would end up with a flock! This especially since Dan lost his own little flock to the fox last year. Anyway, we have had a lovely letter from “Send a Cow” and thought we would share part of it with you:

Musabyemaliya Julienne and her husband Ngezahumuremyi Innocent are typical of the families who rely on our help. Living with their seven children in Rwanda, Julienne joined a Send a Cow group in 2008 and last year received a cow that turned their lives around.

With food for the family and an income for essentials, Christmas is now no longer a time of isolation and sadness. Julienne can prepare a nutritious meal, make special clothes for the children and invite friends and neighbours to share a drink at their home in the afternoon. They have plenty to celebrate.

At Search Star we are counting our chickens blessings.
