Technical Analytics Executive
SearchStar works with the leading media and technology platforms in the world. However, in order to get the best results for our clients, we're not always satisfied with their out-of-the-box functionality. As a result, we have an increasing need for people with technical skills to help us develop our bespoke solutions.
If you've got experience in a technical or web development role and you like the sound of working with a team of digital media consultants, conversion optimisers and analytics specialists, then read on and get in touch.
Salary: Dependent on experience
Reports to: Analytics Consultant
Start Date: ASAP

SearchStar are seeking an additional member of the team to help us become an even more tech-driven business. We currently use market leading tech platforms (Google Analytics, Data Studio, Facebook, etc...) and we have an innovation team that seeks ways to use these platforms in “non-standard” ways (for example, writing bespoke scripts to serve specific tasks).
However, we’d like additional resource dedicated to the more technical aspects of our work, to get even more from these platforms and to help develop our own proprietary tools.
We’re looking for someone who has some experience developing tools and platforms that solve client challenges. They must be technically capable and have an aptitude for problem solving. We’d also like this person to see the value of working with existing market leading tools to take advantage of APIs and open source technology to build on and innovate their capabilities, rather than trying to start from scratch.
It will be essential for the chosen person to work with the innovation team to help uncover these opportunities, convert them into fully thought out plans and prioritise those that will have most benefit/impact for SearchStar overall. This person could consider themselves the Technology Evangelist at SearchStar.
This role would suit someone who has spent time in a technical role (e.g. web development or ad operations) or has studied for a technical qualification, and is now looking to apply their skills in a different way.
Experience of any web/digital based technology will be beneficial, but some will be more relevant than others.
Would be Ideals
- HTML & CSS
- General API use/integration
- Google platforms (e.g. Analytics/Tag Manager/Data Studio/Campaign Manager/Sheets)
- Other Ad platforms (e.g. Facebook/Amazon/Adobe etc.)
Nice to Haves
- Google Ads Scripts
- SQL/BigQuery/Data Warehouse
Example Areas of Focus
- Google APIs - Python

SearchStar have been around since 2005 and we’re still growing. Right now, we have 60 digital media superstars working in our offices next to Bath train station, but we’re always on the lookout for new talent. We’ve recently been acquired by Welocalize, which means we’re part of an even bigger group of people who understand the importance of digital content and data.
We’re lucky enough to do work that is stimulating and rewarding, but we’re also firm believers in a healthy work-life balance. Part of this means sticking to a 9.00am–5.30pm working day, so your evenings are always your own (we know there’s more to life than work). There’s also flexibility to start and finish early or late, plus you can work from home at those times when it just makes sense.
We run a calendar of social events throughout the year, from escape rooms to the opera, we also lay on a weekly team lunch, and artisan pastries every Friday morning – and our Christmas parties have become the stuff of legend.
We’ll also give you every opportunity to expand your role and push yourself in new directions as the company grows. During your time at SearchStar, you’ll get top-notch training and the chance to build your technical knowledge with some of the sharpest minds in the industry.
It’s not surprising that we have a great record for keeping both clients and staff. Our gold star reviews could fill volumes, and our turnover rate is well below the average for the digital marketing industry. Well, we can’t be above average at everything.
