The largest commercial airport in the South West of England, Bristol Airport handles well over 5 million passengers a year. Car parking is one of the organisation’s largest revenue streams, although competition is increasing from other car parks near the airport, as well as aggregator services.


Until September 2008, Bristol Airport was managing the PPC for their car parking operation in-house. But when the monthly costs rose without a corresponding return on investment, Bristol Airport asked SearchStar to take a look. After a successful meeting, Bristol Airport invited SearchStar to manage their PPC and digital media campaigns in order to increase volume of bookings while reducing costs.


During the first month of the campaign, back in October 2008, cost per booking fell 27%, while bookings rose 8%. Seven years on, SearchStar still runs all of Bristol Airport’s PPC and digital media campaigns.
